We are delighted to announce that we are the distributor for Lothian Vineyards in South Africa!
Two additions that we are particularly excited about are the Pinot Noir and Riesling. Riesling is one of the most underrated wines yet this is a phenomenal beauty when it comes to food pairings – versatility is the name of the game here. Thus the perfect addition to any food & wine pairing menu. Pinot Noir has also captured the heart of South Africans and is always in great demand.
If you are looking for something dangerously enticing there’s the Horny Owl selection. Named in honour of these wise creatures that share their home, this gives you the good old favourite Shiraz & Sauvignon Blanc.
Of course we cannot forget the classic Chardonnay & the ever popular growing Rose so don’t forget to include these on your wine list to pair with some delicious sushi and salmon dishes or light tapas dishes.

What an achievement! The Vina Cobos Malbec has received an score of 100 by the one and only James Suckling!
Viña Cobos is the joint venture between American Paul Hobbs and Argentinians Andrea Marchiori and Luis Barraud. Paul first visited Argentina in 1989 and instantly saw the amazing potential of the terroir and the winemaking culture already present in the country.
Their first wine, Cobos Malbec – James’ top scoring wine – comes from the Marchiori vineyard, which was owned and tended by Andrea’s father Nico Marchiori, who many years ago prophetically said that it was a special vineyard and should be cared for because “one day quality will be more important than quantity.”
James says: The nose is phenomenal in this wine. It makes my head spin, with so many beautiful perfumes of violets, lavender, sandalwood, minerals, dried fruits and figs. Full body and phenomenal depth of fruit that gives layers of structure and richness. I am amazed. This is a wine to try in 2020 but so impressive now. This is the Harlan of Argentina but from malbec instead of cabernet sauvignon. 500 cases made. This is a good as it gets for malbec. (100 points)

We are proud to share that Lismore Wines was been reviewed in the Wine Advocate and Robert Parker’s ratings have once again brought some big smiles on our faces, with the highest score of 93!
2013 Lismore Barrel Fermented Sauvignon Blanc 90 Points
“The 2013 Barrel Fermented Sauvignon Blanc is another great wine from winemaker Samantha O’Keefe. It has an “assured” nose, one with a sense of confidence, springing out of the traps with ripe melon, fresh pear and gooseberry scents. The palate is harmonious with impressive depth and vigor, slightly leesy on the entry and with plenty of acidic bite to maintain tautness and focus on the finish. This is one of those wines you will finish sooner than you expect!”
2012 Lismore Chardonnay 91 Points
“The 2012 Chardonnay has a well-behaved, almost conservative nose that focuses upon delineation and focus and only with aeration reveals attractive citrus peel, bay leaf and lime aromas. The palate has a dab of spice on the entry, crisp acidity and impressive weight in the mouth, yet without losing intensity and precision. This is another excellent wine from one of South Africa’s rising stars, Samantha O’Keefe.”
2012 Lismore Viognier 93 Points
“The 2012 Lismore Viognier has a burnished straw color. The bouquet does not mess about, it just soars from the glass with exquisitely defined scents of peach skin, Mirin, dried apricot and lanolin. There is such detail and focus here. The palate is very well defined, harnessing the flair and spiciness of the grape variety but avoiding blowsy characteristics, keeping everything toned down and focused, thereby infusing the tension and vibrancy of a great Viognier. This might be one of Samantha O’Keefe’s finest wines to date. Searching for this tomorrow is a day too late.”
